Several Latin American cities have become the epicenter of development par excellence for various industries, including our guild of air conditioning, ventilation and refrigeration. This is largely mediated by the region's peaceful economies and the protectionist policies of the governments of those countries.
Recently, the electronic publication América Economía delivered a report of the 50 most outstanding cities to do business in Latin America, in this 2015 ranking several cities stand out, especially four of the five towns that represent Colombia on the list: Bogotá, Medellín, Cali and Barranquilla, which rose in the ranking, and Cartagena that lost a position.
This good moment of the coffee country is possible, according to the publication, thanks to the "experimentalist" disposition of the current generation of mayors in the country, who are open to making unconventional bets on urbanism, interrelation with companies and protection of the environment.
Other logical terroirs due to the size of the countries and their geographical location are obviously the Mexican and Brazilian cities, which have a good account in the list and that dynamize in considerable proportion the businesses of the region.
Another city that has had an admirable standout with respect to the previous year is Montevideo, Uruguay, which thanks to precise and clear policies that come from the Mujica government, has been able to climb into the ranking and become a model city of favorable climate for business.
The first 20 cities to top the list are Miami, Santiago, Sao Paulo, Mexico City, Bogota, Panama City, Buenos Aires, Montevideo, Rio de Janeiro, Lima, Valparaiso-Viña del Mar, San José, Monterrey, Concepción-Talcahuano, Medellin, Brasilia, San Juan, Guadalajara, Querétaro and Campinas.
