Nearshoring can be an ally of cold chains, says Kryotec

El Nearshoring puede ser un aliado de las cadenas de frío, afirma Kryotec

International. According to the company Kryotec, nearshoring represents an opportunity that is revolutionizing the way companies manage their cold chain.

The company argues that the rise of nearshoring, as well as the relocation of production near consumer markets, represent a great success for Mexico if it is capitalized, as up to US $78,000 million in foreign direct investment is forecast for 2032. Likewise, Kryotec affirms that it is a transformative opportunity for companies that depend on an efficient cold chain, because by shortening transport distances, transit times and exposure to external factors that can affect the quality of temperature-sensitive products are significantly reduced.

"How can we not imagine an optimized cold chain that allows fresh fruits, dairy products or temperature-sensitive medicines to reach their destination in a matter of hours, not days. Nearshoring makes this possible, minimizing the risk of decomposition, shrinkage and delays," said company spokespeople.

For Kryotec, this geographical relocation not only benefits the freshness and quality of the products, it also opens the door to new distribution and logistics strategies, in which direct delivery, from production centers to final points of sale, allows for more precise control of temperature and humidity throughout the entire cold chain.

A booming trend
Nearshoring not only optimizes freshness, but also opens the door to a smarter and more resilient cold chain. The relocation of production facilitates the implementation of monitoring technologies and data management systems that allow greater visibility and control over processes. In addition, in the context of temperature-sensitive product industries, companies may also choose to locate their production and distribution centers in nearby countries.

However, as this cold chain trend is adopted as a strategy to optimize business operations, manufacturing and logistics companies are facing new challenges. According to experts, shipping temperature-sensitive products and distributing them to locations closer to the destination market must ensure that products are kept within proper temperature ranges throughout the transportation process.

"Nearshoring is a step towards a more resilient, sustainable and efficient cold chain, aligned with the demands of an increasingly demanding market and, in this context, an innovative approach must be taken to ensure compliance with the quality and safety standards required, especially in the pharmaceutical industry," said Carlos Infante y Loya. founder and chairman of the board of directors of Kryotec.

To do this, it is necessary to reevaluate traditional strategies, rethink logistics models and adopt innovative technologies to guarantee the freshness, quality and sustainability of perishable products, according to the executive.

"Nearshoring redefines the narrative of global logistics, providing a fresh and promising outlook for companies that rely on an effective cold chain. It's a story of innovation and opportunity that is not only thought-provoking, but also offers practical, tangible solutions. In a business environment where change is the only constant, embracing nearshoring can be the key to ensuring a robust and sustainable future, in which, from qualified passive packaging to monitors for temperature control and specialized technical services, each element plays a crucial role," added Infante y Loya.
