The manual, worked within the SPODS project, consists of 9 Chapters and contains the basic knowledge that refrigeration and air conditioning technicians must apply for the safe handling and application of hydrocarbon refrigerants. It is a reference guide for technicians and personnel in charge of the installation, repair and maintenance of refrigeration and air conditioning equipment. Engineer Gildardo Yáñez, who has written for ACR Latin America, participated in the drafting in co-authorship with Engineer Miguel Angel Gónzalez, of the Sssirsa Company. In the development of the different chapters, the characteristics of hydrocarbon refrigerants and the scope of application of each of them in refrigeration and air conditioning systems are exposed.
