Ziehl-Abegg obtains first place in training quality study among German companies

International. Vocational training at the industrial company Ziehl-Abegg based in southeastern Germany won first place in the area of the electrical industry. "The study conducted throughout Germany confirms our long-standing commitment to high-quality vocational training," says Peter Fenkl, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Ziehl-Abegg.

The aim of the study was to find the best vocational training companies in Germany in 2018. On behalf of the news magazines Focus and Focus Money, those responsible for the vocational training of 20,000 companies that concentrate the largest number of employees and that cover 93 industrial branches were consulted. Prof. Dr. Werner Sarges, a specialist in staff diagnosis at the Helmut Schmidt University in Hamburg, scientifically advised the study. The study focused on five key aspects: training success, structural data on training, remuneration, training quota, as well as additional offers for apprentices.

"Ziehl-Abegg is a leader not only in the manufacture of fans for ventilation and air conditioning technology, but also in the manufacture of propulsion motors for elevators," said the jury. Ziehl-Abegg's training concept, with its internships abroad and awards from the IHK Heilbronn-Franken Chamber of Commerce and Industry, also received well-deserved praise. The nearest competitors lagged a considerable distance behind Ziehl-Abegg. "I am particularly pleased with this result for our committed trainers who care about getting the best possible start in the professional lives of future specialist staff," says Mr. Fenkl, Chairman of the Board of Directors.

To carry out the study entitled "Best Vocational Training Companies in Germany 2018", survey forms were sent to those in charge of vocational training of the 20,000 German companies that concentrate the largest number of employees. To assess the quality of vocational training, the following five aspects were considered and incorporated into the assessment with the following weighting: training success (24 %), structural training data (24 %), remuneration during training (16 %), training quota (20 %) and additional offers for apprentices (16 %). A total of 745 companies were able to affirm their position in the ranking.
