A new building located in the city of Barranquilla was recognized last December with the LEED Gold (New Construction) certification, it is the project called Viverdi 85.
This project becomes the second as a residential multifamily building to obtain a certification in sustainability in Colombia and Latin America. The advice of the project was carried out by the specialized company Greener Consultores.
The residential project has 4,300 m2. The building comprises 35 apartments and ancillary services such as swimming pool, communal lounge and sauna. It was designed from the beginning as an example of a sustainable residential project in Colombia developed by Palacio Constructores (member entity of the CCCS), whose philosophy is to promote and execute environmentally responsible residential projects, especially on the Atlantic coast.
• Energy saving
All lighting systems make use of LED technology to improve energy efficiency . Additionally, the entire lighting project included a careful analysis of its position, orientation, operation protocols and beam opening, so that the light pollution of the building is minimal, demonstrating a locally novel and responsible approach.

• Water saving
Regarding the saving of drinking water, although Barranquilla is an area where the intensity of rain is very low, the project not only recycles this resource, but also the water product of the condensation of the evaporator units of the air conditioning equipment.

• Location
Viverdi 85, located within a mixed-use residential and commercial area aims to reduce the vehicular displacement of its occupants, thus achieving a high level of energy savings through the design and specifications of the envelope (Thermal insulation and high specification window).
